Tension in Gudihathnoor over rape of minor

Adilabad:Tension mounted in the SC Colony in Gudihathnoor mandal headquarters late on Saturday night when some people attacked the house of a person alleging that he raped a minor girl by luring her. They also attacked the accused who sustained severe injuries. The irate group also set fire to the house of the accused which was put off later. Additional cops were deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Police reportedly took the injured accused into custody.

The parents of the girl lodged a police complaint stating that their daughter was missing.

The police reached the spot and tried to control the situation. Family members and relatives of the victim attacked the police vehicle when they allegedly tried to shift the injured accused to hospital. In the process, Ichoda CI Bheemesh and Gudihathnoor SI Tirupathi also suffered injuries and were undergoing treatment at RIMS, Adilabad. Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy visited the spot and supervised the situation.
