A man has been arrested after an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the head at Glenavon Football Club in Lurgan, County Armagh.

Police received a report of a stabbing in the grounds of Mourneview Park just after midnight on Sunday.

The man was taken to hospital for serious head injuries following the attack and an 18-year-old man has been arrested.

Det Sgt Stewart appealed for information said: “We know there were a lot of people in the club around the time of the incident so are asking for anyone who might have information that could help us.”
