Australian Open 2025 LIVE updates: Jannik Sinner a class above, wins Australian Open in straight sets

Alexander Zverev has a small measuring-type contraption in his hand as he takes a seat during the change of ends – trailing 1-2 in the third set – and the Nine commentary box is explaining why.
“Zverev is a diabetic, has been since he has been a child, and is just checking his levels,” Jim Courier said.

Todd Woodbridge said it was a fascinating story because officials took umbrage when Zverev had to self-inject a few years ago at Roland-Garros during the French Open.
“They said they didn’t like the look of it, thought it looked like he was doping himself up,” Woodbridge explained.
“So he went on the front foot, talking about his disease, and he has done a wonderful job, elevating the awareness of people living with diabetes.
“He has shown that you can become – as good as he is – in the world of sport. It doesn’t have to hold you back.”
