It wouldn’t be an Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix without Martin Brundle’s famous “grid walk”.

The Sky presenter and former F1 racer uses every available moment prior to the race (right up until the national anthem starts) to interview anyone and everyone on the grid.

British singer-songwriter Raye is there to support new Ferrari signing, and seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Brundle also spoke with Hamilton’s dad, Anthony, who said: “It feels like the first day in Formula 1 for us. The most important thing is – he’s super happy, we’re super happy.”

Hamilton snr said he just wanted everyone to finish today’s race, particularly given the weather.

But for that, Brundle had a warning, telling the Sky coverage that, after Monza, Jeddah and Silverstone, Albert Park is the fourth-fastest track on the whole calendar.

“You don’t have small crashes at this place,” he said.
